Within three months, more than 20 crore fraud from Indian government banks

It has become very common for public sector banks to come out with frauds in India. In the last several years, there have been cases of many such scams and frauds with banks. In which big businessmen have fled to India by making scams. That is where we talk about petty frauds from banks. Let us tell you, during the last three months, there has been a fraud of about 20,000 crore rupees from the public sector banks of India. This has been disclosed by RTI.

RTI reveals sensational data:

In fact, as per the information released by RTI, the country has committed a fraud of Rs 19,964 crore during the April-June quarter of 2020-21 from 12 public sector banks in India during the last 3 months. A total of 2,867 cases have been reported under this fraud. The first place in the bank's fraud cases is the State Bank of India (SBI), India's largest bank. A total of 2,050 fraud cases have been reported from SBI in these 3 months, under which the bank has cheated Rs 2,325.88 crore.

Bank of India:

If these banks are seen in terms of the rupee, the highest frauds happen to the Bank of India (BoI). Bank of India has been the highest in the month with the highest number of Rs 5,124.87 crore. However, the fraud cases from this bank are less than SBI, i.e., 47. If you look at the data of India's central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), according to the data, there has been an increase of 28% in fraud cases in banks and financial institutions during 2019-20. While the price has increased by 159%. In the last financial year, the total fraud cases were 8,707, and the amount was Rs 1.85 lakh crore.

Time is taken to detect these frauds:

According to RBI, the average time for the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to detect frauds with banks and financial institutions during the year 2019-20 took two years. It is clear that the month in which the bank has been defrauded. Information about that fraud took 24 months for the bank to know. In addition, it took 63 months to nab the fraud cases of more than Rs. 100 crore.

Nearly 20,000 crore fraud cases reported from the following banks:

  • Canara Bank 33 cases and Rs 3,885.26 fraud.
  • Bank of Baroda 60 cases and Rs 2,842.94 fraud.
  • Indian Bank 45 cases and Rs 1,469.79 fraud.
  • Indian Overseas Bank 37 cases and Rs 1,207.65 fraud.
  • Bank of Maharashtra 9 cases and Rs 1,140.37 fraud.
  • Punjab National Bank 240 cases and Rs 270.65 fraud.
  • UCO Bank 130 cases and Rs 831.35 fraud.
  • Central Bank Of India 149 cases and Rs 655.84 fraud.
  • Punjab & Sind Bank 18 cases and Rs 163.3 fraud.
  • Union Bank 49 cases and Rs 46.52 fraud.
