Women Jan Dhan’s account holders have received the second installment of Rs. 500 under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY). In this difficult time of lockdown applied to prevent coronavirus infection, this help is huge for the poor and deprived sections of the country. The Government helped to identify the potential needy through Jan Dhan’s account and send direct help to their account. This is one of the biggest features of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). It is a central government’s financial inclusion scheme aimed at connecting more and more people with banking services.

2. Accident insurance up to Rs 2 lakh
3. Jan Dhan’s account holder does not need to maintain a minimum balance.
4. Life cover of Rs. 30,000 is available on the death of the beneficiary. However, this live cover gets the benefit only when the necessary conditions are fulfilled.

7. Jan Dhan’s account holder can get an overdraft facility up to Rs 10,000 for six months to maintain the account properly. However, the same person in a family can get this facility.

According to the official website of PMJDY, you can open a Jan Dhan account at any bank branch or bank friend outlet. The accounts which are opened under PMJDY do not need to maintain a minimum balance. However, if you want the checkbook facility, then you will have to maintain the minimum balance.

According to PMJDY’s website, you can open Jan Dhan’s account through documents such as passports, driving licenses, pan card numbers, voter ID cards issued by the election Commission, Mgnrega job cards signed by the state government official.
