There are dozens of companies, including Chadfc Ergo Health Insurance, Religare, Max Bupa, HDFC Life Insurance, Max Life Insurance, and Tata AIA, which are now offering to provide their insurance products through telemedical arrangements.
However, this telemedical facility is about a year old. However, inquiries have increased because of the ongoing ‘lockdown’ across the country these days. Because of the spread of coronavirus worldwide, it is the need of the day to provide insurance through telephone testing. For anyone who wants term insurance up to Rs 2 crore and a medical cover of up to Rs 1 crore, the facility will be of great benefit in the current era. This telemedical process is entirely within the purview of the insurance regulator IRDA’s rules and is customer-wise. However, if the customer gives false information on the phone and is proved during the investigation, then the insurance company will have every right to dismiss the insurance claim.
